"The tricky thing about trying to pre-judge where people will go before they die, is that we can only go by their actions and what other people say about them." Gregorith said. "We won't know anything about their motivations or remorse level until the universe gets hold of them.
"That being said, I'd say his mom is probably going to level 5. That's if he's right that she's just in denial about what she and her husband did to him. His dad, or rather I should say 'the man who declined to be his father' on the other hand is probably a level six or seven. He's striking me as dismissive, rather than sadistic."
He had his laptop open on the counter, and was in the midst of a vid-call with Lily, who had just read a certain former child actor's memoirs.
While all that was going on, he was bustling about, preparing for that night's watch-along party with Bel, Lily, Angel and Sharkie. Azzy was invited but as expected had declined. He never did "Sad Movie Night" because 1. He rarely had the reaction the rest had and got teased for it. "Why is it sad? They'll see each other again in paradise right?"
And 2. He just didn't see the point in "recreational sadness".
He had however gladly handed over his recipe for mac and cheese, which Gregorith was preparing.
Later...
Everyone was signed in and snug on their respective couches.
"Okay!" Angel said cheerfully. "Let's do the checklist! Comfort food?"
"Check."
"Wine or alternative?"
"Check."
"Tissues?"
"Oh boy. Check."
"Emotional support sharks?"
"Check!" Sharkie bounced.
"Okay movie! Bring it."
"And that's why...I hate myself."
"In the first scene?!"
[Establishy, but okay for broadcast. I don't have a meta-title, but the movie is Studio Ghibli's "When Marnie Was There", my go-to movie for when I need a good cry.]
