Oh. Oh, I'm a day early, aren't I? Okay, this is a new one. Hello, folks. This is Tony Stark on the wrong day because I forgot to check the calendar today.

But that's fine, let's just get this done.

We'll start with school now that it's back in session. There was Cupcakes of the World
with an optional s at the end there. Stark went with introductions and then, of course, their favorite type of cupcakes. I'm a death by chocolate sort of guy, myself. Overcoming Obstacles, my and Steve's class, also did introductions and allowing our little pack of dogs to meet the students. Combat 101 had Thor checking on the experience levels of his students.

In the dorms, Sairis enjoyed some tea as he figured out some of the newer to him technology with an equally lost Caleb.

In town, Watts had raccoons in the cells of the trooper station. Steven brought him lunch before they discussed the aforementioned raccoons. Octavia had a date night at Lucifer's place with Duke where the subject of pineapple jam came up in connection to the dessert she got for the date. Huh. That actually sounds delicious.

Well, that looks like all I've got here. Everyone, have a lovely weekend and... I suppose I'll be back again tomorrow.

Sairis had successfully completed the first week of classes here. Even if today's had been much less fun than the others. Fighting, seriously? Him?

Anyway, it was over. And he was back to the room here. After watching Liliana, he thought he could manage the kettle, even if he wasn't sure exactly how it worked. And he found tea and a mug and some honey and milk.

So now he was sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of the couch with a cup of tea, frowning and poking at his new phone, trying to figure out what some of these things were.

Hello, everyone. This is Captain Steve Rogers with the news of yesterday.

Classes have started back up again! Jane and Cara started cinema studies with introductions and everyone's favorite movie. I'm partial to Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, if anyone's wondering.

And the movie with the snowman that comes to life, thank you, Leroy, for passing that along to everyone. Don also did introductions in Norse Mythology, and Belle was not looking into why the gremlins were reading books about cannibalism. I feel like someone should be looking into that, though. Liliana skipped the introductions and went straight into teaching about mana.

In town, Luma was dealing with an argyle invasion, Pam and Harley caught up over ethically-sourced coffee at the Perk, and Thor got creative with satsumas at the Devil's Nest--

Of course not dirty. What on Earth could be dirty about satsumas?

*long pause*

Well, now I'm just disappointed in you. Finally, Henry and Lydia were at Supper Club at Ching Tai, and now I'm going to need Chinese food for lunch. That sounds wonderful!

"Good morning," Thor greeted his students once they had assembled in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like a training facility, with mats on the floor and racks of weapons lining the walls. "I am Thor, and this is Combat. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the facility, we are currently inside a simulation, with safeguards in place. You cannot come to any great harm here, but I find that some little harm is necessary when learning to fight. You must learn how to take a fall. You must learn how to take a hit. Some of this knowledge will come with bruises, with aches that remind us of our limits so that we may surpass them.

"I fear I am not particularly well-acquainted with any of you, so we shall begin with the customary introductions. Fear not; unless you have another class today it is the last time you shall be subjected to them this semester. Please tell me who you are, and your level of experience with combat or self-defense, and in what form. Let me know what I am working with, and then I will know where we should begin."

There were three dogs waiting for the class to arrive for their first day. Three, adorable, hyperactive dogs.

Oh, and two teachers. They were there too.

"Hi, hopefully no one is allergic to dogs," Tony said. "Because that'd make this difficult."

Steve was holding the leashes for a Husky, who was sitting like she had nothing better to do all day and a Belgian Malinois, who was sitting but vibrating with the excitement of seeing new friends.

"Let us know now," Steve said, nodding, "and we'll take it up with the moose for you."

"Otherwise... let's get our introductions in," Tony said brightly. "I'm Tony Stark, he's Steve Rogers, and these two are Libby and Fee. Fee, don't chew on the desk."

The Malinois stopped chewing on the desk for approximately three seconds before trying again.

"And the corgi is Patriot," Steve said with a grin at the slightly calmer (compared to the other two) dog by Tony's feet.

Patriot was an angel and no, Tony would not be allowing anyone to question that fact.

"How about we get introductions from the class and, yes, yes you can pet any of the dogs," Tony said because he knew the main lure of the class.

Fee's entire body perked up at the word "pet."

There were raccoons in the cells.

Which was not an unusual occurrence, at least here on Fandom Island.

"New Years Resolutions," Calvin said with a shrug, when Watts tried asking what, exactly, had landed them there this time. He didn't elaborate, so Watts was unsure whether it was succeeding or failing at said resolutions that had ended in raccoon arrests.

Once everyone had arrived in the Home Ec room, Stark looked around the room. “Welcome to another class on cupcakes. Or maybe your first class on cupcakes. I’ve done several. I’m Stark, but I think I’ve met all of you by now. At some point.”

“I don’t know if you’re all familiar with cupcakes.” Although they’d all met him before so the odds were good they’d acquired at least a passing familiarity. “But they’re these.” Behold, students, the dozen neatly frosted and sprinkled cupcakes before you!

“They’re for eating. Of course.” He wasn’t a monster. “So please take one if you’d like. Or two if you’re very hungry.” He waited for that to happen, if it did.

“So…cupcakes. One of my favorite things. We don’t have them where I’m from and we don’t have chocolate but I was introduced to them here, on this island, years ago, by a friend. He used to make them for me and then I learned to make them myself and then I just kept doing it. For today…I did a little research. About cupcakes.”

“I learned that cupcakes were first invented here. Not here on this island but here in the United States on the other side of the causeway. Over 200 years ago, it seems, in 1796, but the word ‘cupcake’ wasn’t used for another 30 years or so. And the cakes weren’t the same as the ones we have here and now. I have a copy of the recipe that may be for the first cupcakes for everyone if you want it.”

“I don’t know that it’s a good recipe. Not very easy to follow. It doesn’t say anything about the temperature of the oven or how long it might take. But it may be interesting to try it out sometime. We'll be trying a lot of different sorts of cupcakes, from many different places.”

“So…introductions today while we eat the cupcakes. Who are you? Do you have cupcakes where you’re from? Do you have a favorite type or flavor? And, if you want to share, why you decided to take this class.”

The students had all been ~~handwavily~~ instructed that they would be meeting in the Danger Shop for every class, though when they entered it today, it was currently set up to mimic a classroom. On the board at the front of the room a five pointed star was inscribed, and at each point was a word: Peace, Freedom, Perfection, Acceptance, and Power. Beneath the star, several questions were written out:

• What do you desire? What is your end goal?

• What means do you use to achieve these ends?

• What do you care about? What do you represent?

• What do you despise? What negatively drives you?

• Why do you like your allies and hate your enemies?

• What is your greatest strength? Greatest weakness?

Liliana was leaning against the front of her desk, sipping a cup of tea and watching the class file in. As soon as the bell ~~or whatever~~ rang, she began to speak. ( Have introductions on your own time. We have lectures in this class. )

"Each of the words listed here is a summation of what its corresponding color of mana ultimately desires. Due to either a similarity to how the mana seeks to achieve those goals or a similarity in what it repudiates, each color has two allied, or complementary colors. Blue mana plays nicely with black and white, green mana plays nicely with red and white. And, as follows, each other has to enemy colors as well. White magic is enemies with black and red, and red mana is enemies with blue and, again, white. The colors that one type of mana is allied with will be enemies of each other, and the enemies of one kind of mana will be allies. So, while black mana is allied with blue and red, blue and red are enemy colors. Black's enemy colors are white and green, white and green are allies. However, just because certain mana colors are enemies, that doesn't mean you can't use both. Again, I was using black and white together as a girl; in university, I belonged to Witherbloom, which uses black and green mana, and Izzet, a guild on the plane of Ravnica, uses blue and red. All color combinations are possible."

It was a surprisingly elegant system, all things considered. "The questions on the board are questions we will seek to answer every week as we discuss each color in detail. Today, we'll be applying those questions to you, in order to get an idea of what color mana you might be personally drawn to. I'm also interested in hearing your opinions about what desired goal is linked to what color mana, and why you've decided that, and also any questions you have thus far. And, of course, the required introductions. So. Let's begin."

Belle was certain she did not want to look into why there were books about pizza and books about cannibalism scattered all over the library. She didn't want to know. Not even a little bit. She didn't even want to know why there were gremlins arguing about those two topics. It was better to live in ignorance.

She was going to do some reading on Norse Mythology instead.

The library was open but the gremlins were real sus today.

Lydia had long since lost track of the proper rotation of restaurants for the Supper Club, and she felt like Chinese this evening, so: Ching Tai it was! She had sent missives to the usual suspects, and if anyone else wanted to join in, she hoped they would be able to find them. As it was, she was perusing the menu, trying to decide what she would try this time around. (Certainly not anything with a little drawing of a pepper beside it.)

Don could have sworn he'd signed up to teach something in his medical wheelhouse, but he knew better than to take it up with the moose, so here they were.

"Good morning!" he greeted his students. "I'm Dr. Donald Blake, this is Norse Mythology, and if you're wondering what my qualifications are to teach this class, well..." He winked. "That's classified." Half of his students would get the joke. "Doing review for this class reminded me that a lot of the myths as they're written down here are not how they happened in my world, but then, the texts get a lot wrong there, too. So we're going to be going by the texts, because that's the official version, although I may provide commentary, and if things are different where you're from, please, let me know. It's always interesting to learn about different traditions.

"Now, since we're going by the texts that means this class will not be 'Ten Times Odin Was The Worst,' and don't even get me started on Loki." Also it would make Thor sad. That was his dead dad and brother, Don. Yes, they were kind of the worst, but still. "Also, I, for lack of a better word, follow Thor." He used his thumb to hitch the chain of his Mjolnir pendant out from under his sweater, so everyone could see it, and then added, "Not her," with a gesture toward Jane ~~if she was present~~. "It's complicated." In that he followed Thor in much the same way thunder followed lightning, but sure, people could think he was talking about the 'two Thors' thing. "We all have our biases, and now you know mine. And now I would like to know yours. You know the drill, or should by now. Name, where you're from, a skim of what you already know about Norse mythology. Your religious affiliation, if you think it might be relevant to the class. Let's start with you," he said, picking a student at random.

Luma hadn't been to the shop in a while, it was true. Things had gotten a bit...intense, back home, so she and Eleanor had missed out on a good chunk of the end of the year, and Eleanor decided to stay and finally take care of things...as Luma felt she should have been doing pretty much from the get-go! She needed to take responsibility for all she'd done, and especially with Rhys the way he was, he needed her...

And Luma wasn't done getting her taste of the outside world, yet. Eleanor had her chance; now it was Luma's turn.

So she came back sans sister this semester, after a bit of a hiatus, and when she entered Pixie Dust to find a veritable explosion of argyle, she took it as a personal offense.

"Ugh."

Maybe the outside world wasn't all it was cracked up to be after all.

If no customers came in (and why would they??), she was definitely going to turn into a wolf and take care of this the feral way...

The classroom was cozy, but most importantly, it smelled like fresh popcorn. Mostly because there was a lot of it waiting for the class.

"So, movies!" Jane said. "Much easier topic than driving on this island."

That was a low bar

"So you'll have no excuse for not passing." Not that Cara had ever actually failed anyone, that would require classes actually making sense.

Jane ate some of the popcorn with a thoughtful look. "She's not wrong."

"It's a simple enough deal," Cara said. "We play some movies, you get some culture, everyone wins."

Especially Cara once everyone figured out what kind of movies they'd be showing.

"Amd today we start easy," Jane said. "With introductions. Oh! And your favorite movies."

"Maybe we'll show them."

Spoiler: they wouldn't.

I have a first period class this semester, so let's get this done.

Up at the School, after introductions, The Long Con was all about figuring out who you wanted to be, but which I mean making fake IDs, while Creative Writing also did introductions. Arden was 'twitchy' in the Library, where Caleb was surprised at all the books, and Gray told Arden of his trials.

The Dorms were once again quiet, while in Town, Adrian had a kitty Rey at Pick Your Poison, Gray had to deal with people attempting to make waffles sad at Over Easy, and Octavia was behind the bar at the Devil's Nest

Some days the coffee machine at home just wasn't enough.

And some days the coffee machine at home just didn't work because of ill fated experiments involving an attempt at infusing coffee with things coffee apparently shouldn't be infused with - at least not through putting the thing directly into the machine.

Which one of those days this one was... was unimportant and nothing to worry about!

Harley sailed into the Perk and directly up to the counter with way too much pep in her step for someone who hadn't had her morning caffeine yet: "Hello! I'll take it extra large and with everything in it!"

The baristas were already used to these kinds of orders from her, so this was going to be fine.

It’s Wednesday again and I’m here again. It seems I’m to be doing this another year. The squirrels have not yet tired of tormenting me early in the morning once a week.

There are notes from the school because break is over and classes have started again. Raiden has a class on Feeding Yourself and asked for introductions and what his students know about using appliances. Ethics is once again being taught by Anakin and Ahsoka and today was introductions for that class as well. And for Basic Training, taught by Gambit, the students showed off what they could do in the Danger Shop.

I have nothing from the dorms, the porg is disappointed in everyone, and I have one note from the town. A quiet day all around it seems. Kitty was at Caritas working on plans for her glitter class and then suddenly she was a small lion. I’m sorry, Kitty. I hope this isn’t the start of a lot of transformations…

That’s all from yesterday. Try to enjoy your Wednesdays even if you’ve turned into an animal for no reason.

Class had been told to meet in the Danger Shop, which was set to look like a normal classroom, albeit one lacking both teachers.

Then with a dramatic crash of thunder and lightning, Isabela appeared in the doorway. "It was a dark and stormy night," she intoned, equally dramatically.

Aphra, meanwhile, entered via the window with an even more dramatic shattering of glass. "Then the ninjas attacked."

"You're probably wondering how we got here," they said in unison, and if anyone suspected the majority of their class prep time had been spent practising this, they'd be right.

"Introductions are important," Isabela told the class.

Aphra followed up with "You only get one chance to make a first impression, well unless you go into some serious identity hijinks, but that's a different lesson."

"Today we'd like you to find your favourite opening line from this list-" Isabela produced several thick stacks of paper and started passing them around. "- and build an introduction to the rest of the class around them."

It had taken Arden a few minutes to figure out what was off about the library when she'd walked in. Nothing seemed awry at first glance: the gremlins were there, but being an acceptable level of rowdy, the books were all in their shelves, save those she had to shelve, and there weren't any weird tableaux, weather patterns, or voices anywhere that she could spot.

So now Arden was twitchy for no good reason that she could spot. But she was definitely twitchy. Was this what going crazy felt like?
