#1 Derelict Walk, November 2, Sunday Night
Nov. 2nd, 2025 05:39 pmThe first thing Gregorith did when he got home was look in the records from home of ambassadors. Sure enough Leda Danan had been among them. The mortal soul of an elf. He'd remembered her partly because of the novelty of someone from Faerie being a mortal, and partly because of her description of some of her afterlife's punishment realms.
"Some bigots get sent to a paradise realm but have to share it with the people they hated. Either they learn not to be bigots or seeing their intended victims being happy and not being able to do anything about it, makes the place hell for them."
Could it be the same person? That somehow seemed an unlikely coincidence.
In any case, he typed up a report for Lucifer about what he'd learned from Steven and the exhibits at the museum, and then made a long overdue phone call.
"Greggles!!" Bel's deep voice bellowed delightedly.
"Beef, good to hear your voice. How is everyone?"
They talked long into the night, with interruptions by Lily, and Sharkie, and apparently word got out that he'd called because Angel came to quiz him on how he was doing socially. He told her about the party.
She must have put him on speaker because when he mentioned that his costume was simply going out without his disguise, he heard Bel's thunderstorm of a laugh.
"Did you talk to anyone new at the party?" she asked.
"I talked to one person I didn't already know." And that because she'd introduced herself to him. But that still counted.
He missed them. He missed Hell. But his work here was important. And maybe his work on himself here would be as well.
