He read the invite and was filled with introvert panic. Another party? (Yes the carnival counted) He barely knew Liliana. Did she remember him enough that she'd be insulted if he didn't go? Would the squirrels rat him out if he didn't? Presents? Again with the barely knowing her. The only thing he knew she liked were bones.
Maybe he could get away with sending some Asgardian Mead or something with a fancy card that said "Sorry I couldn't make it because I promised Cthulhu I'd babysit!" or something.
If he'd had more notice he might have been able to make a ceramic...something that looked like it was made of bones but maybe she'd think that was tacky.
